Our Sustainability Journey

At Sande Kids, we know that the efforts we make today will influence the world we will leave to our children. Our passion lies in making the most eco-conscious and sustainable efforts as we can.

We have chosen to work with like-minded manufacturers to create quality lasting products while also ensuring methods to create these products are ethically and environmentally sound.

We take the time to understand our suppliers, production and processes involved in our business to ensure we align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals to protect people and the planet.

Our Products

The Sande Kids Sand Brush, or Surf Bush, is Fair Trade and handmade ethically in Sri Lanka. It is made sustainably from all-natural materials including hard-wearing sustainably sourced rubber wood and a combination of coconut husk and jute fibre bristles. It is fully biodegradable and can even be composted at the end of its life. Our beautiful Sand Brush won a Gold Award and Editor's Choice Award in the 2023 Clean and Conscious Awards and was recently nominated in the inaugural Marie Claire Sustainability Awards 2024.

The Sande Kids Waterproof Car Seat & Pram Liner is made from Food Grade Silicone, unlike plastic, silicone does not break down releasing micro-plastics into the environment.

Our baby seat liner is highly durable and designed for each child in your family to use.  We even encourage our customers to pass our liners to a friend who might be able to re-use our product.  When in doubt,  you can return it to us for recycling by emailing hello@sandekids.com.

Sustainable Packaging

Our minimal packaging has been strategically chosen to include all recycled or FSC certified paper, swing tags and packaging.  All of the items in our collection are delivered in Better Packaging Co. Pollastic satchels made from recycled ocean plastic by Better Packaging Co. Even our postage labels are compostable.

Positive change and advocacy for a better environment are most important to us, that is why we have partnered with Take 3 for the Sea to donate $1 from every sale to support their mission of reducing plastic pollution. Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway or in fact anywhere you go - every contribution makes a  difference.  #Take3forthesea encourages simple actions to reduce the impacts of plastic pollution and waste in our oceans and environment. A simple concept our children understand and we incorporate into our daily lives.  Join us in support of Take 3 for the Sea.
